Prime beef and tasty
greens in artistic surroundings
Shirts and steaks have nothing in common at first glance. But that didn't stop shirt manufacturer Aage Damgaard from starting A Hereford Beefstouw with his wife Bitten more than 50 years ago.
Aage, in particular, was annoyed that there were no decent places to eat in Herning when business associates visited the town. Therefore, he took matters into his own hands. The shirts were put on the shelf in favor of tender steaks over an open grill.
This became the starting gun for not only Herning's, but also Denmark's first steakhouse.
Ever since its humble beginnings in 1971, A Hereford Beefstouw has been a steakhouse with a strong focus on delivering very high-quality meat to its guests. Today, we are naturally much more than that, and we serve a wide variety of diverse dishes. The keyword that still resonates across our dishes at our steak restaurants today is quality, and we go to great lengths to put together a menu that abounds with quality in both appetizers, main courses, and desserts.
Since the first steak was flipped in Lund near Herning, good quality and high service have been recurring concepts in the philosophy behind A Hereford Beefstouw.
And it's not just about food, wine, and good service. The restaurants' decor, interior, and artistic elements must be of equally high quality, as dining at an A Hereford Beefstouw or one of our Breweries should be an experience for more than just the taste buds.
